R and R's Terms of Service

 

 

1. Safe and Legal Use

The hirer and all additional drivers are responsible for the safe and legal use of the vehicle on hire. This includes but is not exclusive to ensuring the relevant seat belt laws are adhered to, keeping within the speed limits and taking care to ensure responsible driving and parking. Children under the age of 12 should be in a child seat, the supply of the child seat is the responsibility of the hirer.

 

 

 

 

2. Conditions

The Vehicle can not be driven by:

 

A) Hirers under 25 or over 65 years of age

 

B) Hirers aged 25 years or over unless a full driving licence, valid in the United Kingdom, has been held for more than 24 months.

 

C) Persons who have been convicted of an offence in connection with the driving of a motor vehicle or motorcycle and / or have had their driving licence endorsed or suspended or penalty points imposed. Parking and not more than 2 speeding offences can be ignored. “Spent” convictions, covered by the rehabilitation of offenders act 1974 may be disregarded.

 

D) Persons who have any mental or physical defect or infirmity or suffers from fits, diabetes or any heart complaint.

 

E) Persons who have had their insurance declined and / or renewal refused and / or special insurance terms imposed as a result of claims experience and / or have their insurance or cover cancelled by any motor insurer.

 

F) Persons engaged wholly or partly in professional entertainment or professional sports persons.

G) Jockeys and persons connected with racing of any sort.

 

H) Persons who (whilst driving) have been involved in more than one accident during the past 3 years.

 

I) Foreign Service personnel other than persons born in the United Kingdom.

 

 

 

 

3. Required Prior to Hire

Before collection / delivery of the hired vehicle can take place the hire(rs) must have supplied the following to R&R Rentals: After the initial deposit of at least £100 to secure the booking.

 

• Full payment of hire fee, 4 weeks prior to hire.

 

• £500 cash security deposit, at the time of pick-up.(to be returned upon safe return of the vehicle).

 

• Proof of Address for each driver.

 

• Copy of Driving Licence for each driver.

 

 

 

Payment for travel outside of UK mainland (incurs an additional charge of up to £50 per driver, per week). The security deposit will be refunded upon safe return of the vehicle less any:

 

• Cleaning charges

 

• Repairs and breakages

 

• Tank empty charges ( waste and toilet) £50 each tank.

 

 

 

 

4. Condition and contents of the vehicle

The vehicle will be hired out with the following additional equipment as standard. These items must be returned with the vehicle in the same condition as at the start of the hire:

 

• Instruction Manual

 

• 4 sets of Cutlery and Crockery

 

• 4 x styles of Glasses

 

• Portable DVD Player (if available)

 

• A range of DVD’s

 

• Towels and tea towels ( which must be returned in a bag for washing)

 

• A range of c.d’s Consumables such as tea, coffee, condiments and toilet roll supplied with the vehicle will need to be replaced.

 

Bed linen or sleeping bags can be supplied for a charge of £5 per week. Pillows are supplied. The vehicle will be clean upon delivery (any defects will be noted on the pre-hire paperwork) and we expect it to be returned in a clean condition. Any marks or stains that require industrial cleaning will be charged to the hirer. The hirer accepts that R&R Rentals decision on this issue is final.

 

 

 

 

5. Breakdown and Repairs

The hirer is accountable for the responsible use of the vehicle during the hire. In the event of a minor expense being incurred (eg, gas bottle replacement) these costs will be refunded as long as it is clear that the hirer has used the vehicle caringly and responsibly and all receipts are kept. Punctures must be repaired by the hirer .

 

 

 

 

6. Fuel and Tanks

The vehicle will be full of fuel and charged at the going rate of 75 litres at the start of hire and may be returned with any amount of fuel remaining at your cost .The vehicle will be supplied with a full water tank and empty waste tanks. Failure to return the vehicle with these waste tanks empty will incur a £50 charge.

 

 

 

 

7 Insurance

The insurance policy on the vehicle is fully comprehensive and has an excess of £500. The full insurance policy documents are available on request. In the event of an accident the hirer is liable for this excess. The insurance details will be in the instruction pack provided with the vehicle. Foreign travel is not permitted unless by prior arrangement and at an extra cost of £50 per week, per driver. Proof of address and proof of identity (photo ID) of the hirer are required to be seen by the delivery agent. Photocopies of the named drivers driving licences must also be supplied (this can also be upon delivery of the hired vehicle). If not travelling abroad a current passport should be left with R & R Rentals.

 

 

 

 

8.Pets

Pets are not permitted and the hirer should pay special attention to section 3 with regards to cleaning and charges that will be passed in if extra cleaning is necessary.

 

 

 

 

9.Smoking

Strictly No Smoking inside the Motorhome.

 

 

 

 

10. Cancellation of Booking.

If you have to cancel your booking please contact R&R rentals immediately. We will endeavour to re-rent the motorhome for the cancelled week, and if successful,we will therefore re-pay your deposit , or deposit and balance. However if this proves impossible, we will retain your deposit, or deposit and balance if within 4 weeks of intended pick -up. We would therefore advise you to ensure that your holiday insurance covers you for this risk.

 

 

 

 

11. Delivery and Collection

Delivery and collection of the vehicle should be requested by the hirer upon booking. In case of emergency the hirer should leave a contact telephone number at the point of booking.
